Navarone is located on Corner of Lehaunstown Lane and Brennanstown Road

As you may be aware , Navarone has submitted another planning application ,deadline end on Jan. The new submission on examination appears to be an improvement. However the likely-hood of additional development on this site, is almost 100% guaranteed.
The original application was refused by Both the DLR County Council Planning Dept and An Bord Pleanala, for various grounds. One issue in particular which was upheld by both groups, was the protection of the mature trees on the site and in particular the Giant Sequoia which measures almost 32 metres and almost 200 years old . CADRA will be opposing this reduced development, as the new application confirms the Developers intent to remove virtually 100% of the present tree cover surrounding the site, including the Sequoia, plus some other fine examples of Irish trees( very fine mature Hornbeam).
We will be hanging Posters (Save The Trees at Navarone) in the area to try and make the public aware of the risk to these special trees. If you wish to write to council to object ,please do,the more the merrier.
