THE DOLMEN THEATRE
The Dolmen Theatre, situated above the Magic Carpet pub, opened its doors on 12th January 2015. Our first three productions, No Smoke Without Fire, Weighing-In and 44 Seville Place were all received with great enthusiasm and resulted in many shows being sold out. We at the Dolmen are dedicated to providing exceptional theatre experiences of high professional quality. We are delighted with the positive feedback and great support we have received from local residents who feel that a neighbourhood theatre is a welcome cultural contribution to the area.
We continue with an exciting line up of our next three productions.
The Tailor & Ansty by Eric Cross. Featuring Ronan Wilmot and Ena May
Monday 23rd – Saturday 28th February. 8pm.
‘A very special evening’. Jo Kerrigan, The Examiner.
The Dolmen Theatre once housed Connolly’s public house and grocery store where Samuel Beckett’s mother, May, was a regular customer. It seems a fitting place to stage the following production.
The End by Samuel Beckett. Featuring Marcus Lamb.
Monday 2nd –Saturday 7th March. 8pm.
‘Lamb has a fruitful future ahead of him as an interpreter of Beckett.’ Emer O’Kelly, Sunday Independent.
The Importance of being Wilde Featuring Stephen Burns and Matt Murphy.
Mon 9-Sat 21 March. 8pm
A compelling play on the life and extraordinary career of Oscar Wilde.
Enjoy the plays in a casual and relaxed setting. Drinks from the bar may be brought up to the theatre.
