Dear Resident,
NEWSLETTER
Cornelscourt to Cherrywood Greenway Scheme – This proposal is to provide a comprehensive network of County Greenways linking parks and public open spaces. Whereas there are obvious benefits to Greenways in general there were many legitimate concerns from residents regarding this scheme and its location. Following the public consultation the Council officials prepared a report in response to some of the issues raised. The original intention was that the report would be brought to the Council meeting on 6th July 2015 for decision, however it will now not be considered until the end of the year.
The officials have advised that “in response to the submissions received as part of the Part 8 Public Consultation process, Transportation and Environment (Parks) Departments will be initiating further consideration of the proposed design and routing to include proposed modifications to the design and the preparation of any further environmental reports in the coming months.”
Planning & Development in the area – Planning concerns have been raised by residents with the proposed development of domestic infill sites on Brennanstown Road and the surrounding area. The site at Doyle Nursery’s applied for permission for 115 no. dwelling (26 houses and 89 apartments/duplexes). DLRCOCO refused permission but the applicant has lodged an appeal with An Bord Pleanála. At the Navarone site, permission is sought to build up to 9 additional houses in the garden of the existing house, the existing house will also be retained. An Bord Pleanála is yet to make a decision, if granted this application seeks the removal of more than 30 mature trees including a beautiful Giant Redwood on Brennanstown Road. This would change the landscape of the area and set a precedent for the removal of additional trees in our neighbourhood. There are several similar homes for sale in the area, combined they could result in hundreds of extra cars in the area exhausting the existing infrastructure.
Please be vigilant of planning applications in your area and contact your local committee member should you have planning concerns.
Cherrywood Development Plans Unveiled – Hines, the US-based global property developers snapped up the 400- acre Cherrywood site and have unveiled their plans for a new town centre and business park. The group, which acquired the site in November 2014, said the new development plans to be a retail-led town centre which will employ over 1,000 people. Almost 3,800 new houses and apartments are to be built to house an expected local population on the Hines site alone in excess of 10,000 people. There will also be three significant new parks, two of which will be roughly the size of St Stephen’s Green and Merrion Square. These will include four full size multi- code paying pitches and a tennis club. The existing Cherrywood Business Park is also going to be upgraded and will triple in size to deliver modern office and business space for up to 15,000 workers. The developers said that new Cherrywood town proposal plans to have a pedestrianised town center plaza at the level of the existing Luas line running through the lands – taking its cues from the High Line pedestrian district in New York City.

Hi,
I have noticed planning permission notice for a development of 51 apartments and multiple houses the site is located on the Old Bray road, towards the end of the cul de sac beside the Esso station.
The notice went up last Friday 13th Nov.
Can you advise if this can be brought up in your next meeting?
